y=\sqrt{3x+6}

Solution

We can rewrite this function as:

y=(3x+6)^{\frac{1}{2}}

and get, using the derivative of a power function and according to the informal method:

y'=\displaystyle\frac{1}{2}(3x+6)^{-\frac{1}{2}}\cdot3=\displaystyle\frac{3}{2\sqrt{3x+6}}
