Draw the graph of f(x)=|-x|

Solution

We use the definition of the absolute value.

|-x|=-x if -x\geq0, so if x\leq0

|-x|=-(-x)=x if -x<0, so if x>0

So for x\leq0 we have f(x)=-x and f(x)=x for x>0.

This results in the graph below.
