Calculate the volume of the cylinder which is the result of revolving the line $y=R$ , $x\in[0,h]$ around the $X$ -axis.

Solution

We can calculate this assignment easily because we know the volume of a cylinder. Yet, we also get the answer by revolving the line $y=R$ around the $X$ -axis.
We get:

$\displaystyle\int_{0}^{h}\pi{R^2}dx=[\pi{R^2}x]_{0}^{h}=\pi{R^2}h$

as expected.
