Differentiate:

$y=\sin(x)(\sin^2(x)+\cos^2(x))$

Solution

This function looks complicated but it is not. We apply the following trigonometric formula:

$\sin^2(x)+\cos^2(x)=1$

and thus we have to differentiate:

$y=\sin(x)\cdot1=\sin(x)$

The derivative is:

$y'=\cos(x)$
