Try to solve by factorizing:

$x^2-6x+5=0$

Solution

We have to find $p$ en $q$ such that:

$pq=5$ and $p+q=-6$

The following values will do:

$p=-5$ and $q=-1$

So the equation can be written as:

$(x-5)(x-1)=0$

and thus the solutions are:

$x=5$ or $x=1$
